Former White House Physician and Telehealth Expert Joins Medaica as Chief Medical Officer

Medaica expands leadership team with appointment of Dr. Jennifer Peña

HENDERSON, NV, USA, Feb 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/Medaica, a digital health company extending the capability of home diagnostics, today announced that Dr. Jennifer Peña, a former White House physician under both the Obama and Trump administrations and physician to the Vice President of the United States, is joining the company as its Chief Medical Officer.

A member of the American Telemedicine Association's Advisory Group to Eliminate Healthcare Disparities and Inequalities, Dr. Peña, is a digital and telehealth expert, clinical leader, board-certified internal medicine physician and directs the Vidalús free clinic of the Boys and Girls Club of Puerto Rico.

She joins Medaica at a transformative time for the Company, following U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance (Note 1) for the company’s Medaica M1 Telehealth Stethoscope for in-home use.

An Army veteran of 15 years, Dr. Peña served tours of duty at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, the White House Medical Unit, a deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, and completed an internal residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  Dr. Peña received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
